Attend the Orientation Program

(Term 3 & 4)

Commence School

Each May, we hold an Information Evening where families, who have students commencing school in the next school year, can learn relevant details about the Prep program and the school in general.  During this Information Evening you can take a tour of the school and be informed about the enrolment and transition processes, our student management system, uniforms and our After School Care program amongst other things.

Typically, we hold a total of 4 orientation sessions, two in Term 3 and two in Term 4, where students come to the school and participate in a 2 hour lesson.  This helps students settle in and feel more comfortable when starting school.  In the final transition session your child will be buddied up with a senior student who will also help them through the transition process.

This orientation program allows parents (who are new to the school environment) to get to know ‘how schools operate’.  We encourage our new families to contact the office at any time if they have any questions.

Enrolling a child in Prep is an important choice. To support your decision making, the Education Department has launched a new website to help you locate your local school, and provide relevant guidelines and 'Frequently Asked Questions' related to enrolling  in public schools across the Victorian public school system.

Your child is guaranteed a place at their local designated neighbourhood school, however you can choose to request enrolment at another school if you prefer, providing your preferred school has the capacity to accept your enrolment. The school will use the Placement Policy to consider the application.

What you need to do

  1. Read the Department’s Placement Policy including the permanent address guidelines and the priority order of placement at: www.education.vic.gov.au/school/principals/spag/participation/Pages/placement.aspx

  2. Locate your designated neighbourhood school or preferred secondary schools using www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au

Enrolment forms can be collected from the school office.
